This place is pretty good. I went with my ex a while back. I can't remember what we got, but I remember I had no complaints, except the service wasn't absolutely spectacular. But whatever, the food was pretty decent. I think it was also pretty busy in there that day.

One of those nicely-decorated, front-facing Chinatown restaurant. This place is called Chinatown Chinese Restaurant for whatever reason, despite its name in Mandarin is "Three Mountains Restaurant". I'd only recommend this place if you have tasted all other places in Chinatown, or you're looking for something to start your exploration in Chinese food.Chinatown Chinese Restaurant is a mixed restaurant, serving some Fujianese food, some American-Chinese food, and perhaps some Cantonese food. $5 rice platters are a good deal if you're under budget, but do not expect too much from it.Recommendations:1. Location (Yeah, location is what I recommend about this place...it's next to the entrance of Philly Chinatown)2. Cleanliness (Again, this place has nothing much but clean facade and bright new interior...)Above-Pars:1. $5 Rice platters (Usually a stir fry of some kind, pretty big portion and ok flavor)Sub-Pars:1. Honesty (Please see below)Don't get your hopes too high or have too much expectation on this place. Another thing about this place is that they cut fried taro cake in half while charging the same amount of money. This is just a deceitful action and worths no recommendation whatsoever. If you want similar Fukienese food, go to Ming River Sidewalk where they serve great cheap food.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this place! While the service was slow and the dining room small, the food was a def cut above the standard 'american' chinese food (they gave me the white people menu...i'm sure their non-english menu has many other traditional dishes if thats what you're looking for...and you can read it... but thats not me)A few details: we were able to get pork juicy buns as an app. While these were not the best pork juicy buns in chinatown, they were better than the standard chinese restaurant dumpling. The szechuan chicken was the all star--light sauce with some heat and tang with plentiful veggies and chicken. it was nothing like the gelatinous dishes of the same name you will find elsewhere.I'm going to be adding chinatown to my take-out rotation
